Missing teen a Mills senior

Published on 9/21/2010

Remains recovered and being examined from a destroyed home in the San Bruno explosion could include those of Mills High School senior William Bullis.

The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office is examining recovered remains which could take several weeks. Although the three individuals missing who were believed to be at the address have not been named or confirmed dead, the Bullis family did issue a statement Thursday indicating the remains were those of 50-year-old Greg Bullis, his 16-year-old son, William, and his 82-year-old mother, Lavonne.

The family statement said it is “with heavy hearts that the Bullis family announce the passing of Lavonne, Greg, and William Bullis.”

William was a culinary student at Mills. On Monday, the school had a moment of silence in his honor. There are plans to plant a tree near the culinary department in his honor.
