Published on 12/28/2010
A 59-year-old man who was pulled from the water alongside a San Mateo woman near Oyster Point Marina in South San Francisco last week died on Sunday, according to the San Mateo County coroner’s office.
South San Francisco man Carlos Alvarado was found unconscious in the water with 62-year-old Gail Wuotila near 95 Harbor Master Road at about 2 p.m. on Friday, according to the corner’s office and fire officials.
Investigators believe the two had been walking on a recreational path along the shoreline before they were found.
A witness nearby heard someone yelling and called for help, according to South San Francisco Battalion Chief Juan Byron.
The two were pulled from the water and taken to Kaiser Permanente hospital where Woutila was pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation.
