Dustup at the airport
Published on 12/28/2010
A woman in the SFO terminal three food court was arrested for swinging a long-handled dustpan from a custodian’s cart at other customers seated at a concession.
At approximately 7:46 a.m. Dec. 24, Angela Kay West, 50, of Los Angeles, was alleged to have swung the dustpan at customers, one who picked up a chair to defend himself. West allegedly swung and hit the chair at least 10 times, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and the San Francisco Police Department-Airport Bureau.
Airport Bureau officers who responded to the dustup reported West ran and sat in a corner booth, grabbed a glass bottle and threatened to throw it at officers, according to police.
Police were able to convince her to put the bottle down, but she resisted arrest. One officer sustained a minor injury during the arrest, according to police.
She was transported to Mills Hospital and criminal charges are pending, according to police.
