Burglars caught in the act

Published on 9/22/2010

The owner of business on the 800 block of Airport Boulevard in Moss Beach heard a noise outside at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. He responded to the noise and saw a male suspect, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, standing on the passenger side of the victim’s car, trying to pry open the passenger’s-side window of his vehicle with a long screwdriver. While calling 911, the victim yelled at the suspect, who immediately ran from the scene, leaving behind a female accomplice, according to police.

Sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate the male suspect upon their arrival but were able to identify him as Dennis Shane Perry Jr. through items found in the female suspect’s vehicle. The female identified herself as Trisha Deghi, according to police.

Other items found in the suspect’s vehicle included burglary tools, drug paraphernalia and property reported as stolen out of San Carlos, according to police.

Deghi was arrested and found in possession of a controlled substance and under the influence of a controlled substance, according to police.

At 6:50 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to a call of a suspicious person wearing dark pants and sweatshirt walking north on Airport Boulevard. Deputies arrived at the scene and found the subject matched the physical description of the prior night’s burglary suspect. The deputies contacted the attempted burglary victim and he positively identified the subject as the same person who attempted to break into his car the night before, according to police.

Perry Jr. was arrested for committing a felony while out on bail, possession of concentrated cannabis, attempted burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Any person with additional information about this case is encouraged to call San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jim Gilletti at 363-4066.
