A person was struck and killed by a train in Menlo Park Sunday evening causing delays, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.
Caltrain’s southbound train number 438 struck a person on the train
tracks north of the Menlo Park station at about 5:14 p.m., spokeswoman
Tasha Bartholomew said.
The person was on the track for unknown reasons, and the official position is they were trespassing, she added.
Train 438 was shut down and passengers were transferred to other trains.
Police and officials from the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office were at the scene of the incident.
This is the seventh fatality for Caltrain this year.
